When we learn of a John the Baptist figure as in the New Testament book of Matthew 3: 1-12. John the Baptist was the son of Elizabeth, the cousin of Mary, mother of Jesus. His father, Zacharias was a priest of the group Abijah served in the temple. In Catholicism, John symbolized by a hermit dressed in fleece being preached and biting with a lamb and date of commemoration is 24 June and 29 August. John the Baptist was given the title because of his work that is baptizing the children of Israel to prepare for the coming of the Lord Jesus. After Jesus, disputing the age of 6 months with John, aged 30 years and would begin His ministry, He came to John to be baptized.

About 500 years before the coming of the Son of God as Jesus of Nazareth, a prophet wrote about the expected Messiah expect his coming. It is a message of the coming of peace and comfort. A message of restoration and hope.

Who is John the Baptist, that Jesus praised him as "a man greater among all those born of women". The Bible does not give enough information about what and how teenage life of John, but one explanation is sufficient for us to understand the life of John in the mentioned in Luke 1:80. "The child grew and became stronger spirit., And he lived in the wilderness until the day he had appeared unto Israel". The growth of a child who is really in God's life is very important to note. If we see a father and a mother who serves as priest descendants of Levi who become the law of God commands must be the basis of instruction for young John to grow. Why did John in the wilderness, as if to hide from the Israeli public? Because that is the call from the beginning. "For he will be great before the Lord, and he will not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother's womb" (Luke 1:15). A person who is sanctified by God's will in the midst of a broken world is to be led by God himself in his life. That's how he got this instruction from his father that the young John was still obedient to God's holiness, and keeping the states time to serve.

John is the messenger of God who preceded Jesus. Jesus said: "Among those born of women there has not anyone greater than John the Baptist." (Matthew 11:11). John's childhood was not much known, except when it was still in the womb of Elizabeth, he jumped for joy when Mary visited her mother's house.

I indeed baptize you with water. But in the midst of you standeth one whom ye know not. Him who came later than me. Opens rope off his shoes were I do not deserve ". John has a lot of followers, including those who later became Jesus' chosen apostles. Jesus himself asked to be baptized by him. When was John exclaimed, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" And the voice from Heaven cried out again, "Thou art my Son beloved Son, kepadaMulah I am well pleased".
Shortly after the baptism of Jesus, John was imprisoned for criticizing King Herod Antipas' marriage to Herodias, the wife of his cousin. At a party at the palace, Herod greatly rejoice over the dance Salome, daughter of Herodias, and promised to give him anything he asked. He chose Jordan as strategic territory! Imagine, if we look at our Bible Maps under the title Map of Palestine in the Age of Jesus will be visible location very strategic Jordan splitting Israel. Moreover in the area there is also the important cities of the future Jesus will come around, ranging from Nain, Cana, Nazareth, Gadara, Sychar, Jericho, Jerusalem, etc.. Besides this is the region of the Jordan is only frequented by the people of Israel on the Sabbath because they had to clean the clothes before celebrating the Lord's Sabbath.
There will be so many Israelis who gathered around the Jordan to prepare himself before heading to Jerusalem.Obviously, John uses the calculation of appropriate and effective in carrying out his calling. Just as prophecy since birth, repentance John really responi by Israel to the large number of people baptized members.

There should be a sense of sin in one's life. If a hospital does not realize that he was sick, then he will not seek help for themselves. He will remain ill and even become worse. Therefore, first we have to see that there is sin in ourselves and we have to do something about it. Romans 3:10 says, as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. While it is clearly also Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and have lost the glory of God. "
There should be a confession of the party who has committed the sin. This means that once we see no sin in us, we must agree that we are the ones who have done it. It is not good to blame others, including Satan, for all our sins. We must agree with God that we are guilty and deserve the right judgment.
After admitting that we have sinned, then shall appear the misery, the divine sorrow for our sins. It is not enough just to feel sad that our sins have made us suffer. We should also feel sad that our sins have made the Lord suffer too. Psalm 51:4 says Wash me thoroughly from iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!
There must be a willingness to turn around and leave our sins, so that we can follow the Lord. If we repent of our sins because we have caught these sins, then we are no better than a thief who will not repent. He's just going to feel sorry because he was caught stealing and he had to accept punishment for his actions were wrong. Someone is going to come back and return to his sin, if he was not sincere and honest in his conversion.

Thus we are buried together with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Paul says that baptism is a picture of the burial and resurrection. By entering our bodies in the water, it shows the death and burial of the old life. In the meantime, he lifted the body out of the water showed that we now live in Christ. This picture must have been done by someone who has been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. The only true picture of this experience is to incorporate believers into the water. Only those who have repented of their sins, believe in Christ, and are willing to follow Jesus in a new way of life, are eligible to receive baptism.

The attitude of humility caution is that we should look up from John, at the time of our lives. Because life in the Lord means to serve Him with all our hearts. There will be many challenges and trials that make up into pride, complacency and arrogance eventually was born. But humility with his eyes fixed on the grace of God is the key to the success of the ministry of John the Baptist. John the Baptist so often people look at it, but this view is not complete with a view to see what God has for him. "He was the one, my servant, John his name, he is the father to her son's heart and the heart of the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous. So it is worth it I would call a big guy (success / severe) among all men".

In verse 7, John calls someone "is more powerful than I am., And in verse 8 he refers to Jesus as the one who would bring God's Holy Spirit. More than anything, wanted to help the Holy Spirit in order that we always have high expectations. He wants us to know just how bright and beautiful paradise. He wants us to dream of the existence of a world with no poverty, no war, no hatred, and no sin. That is why He wants us to pray: "Come, Lord Jesus." (Rev. 22:20) Therefore let us each tell Jesus, that we gratefully thank Him because He has sent us the His prophets, saints of our predecessors who have prophetic voices, crying, Prepare the way of the Lord! "
