According to a report written in the INSI website mentioned at least 70 journalists and media workers have been killed while on duty during the January-June 2012, 15 of whom were killed in Syria, a country that now conflict. Surprisingly, in the report mentioned that Indonesia put into fourth place during the 2012's as many as six journalists were killed while on duty in the country. The six journalists were killed in the accident is entirely Sukhoi Superjet 100, May.
INSI Research does include transportation accidents in the variable factors that determine the cause of death of the journalist. INSI report further mentioned that the majority of the causes of deaths of journalists is murder, as many as 45 percent of the 70 cases. A total of 12 journalists were killed because of a tragic explosion. What is also not less interesting, just a little, that is 27 people or 38 percent of media workers were killed due to conflict or war. As many as 62 percent or 43 cases of journalist deaths would occur due to other factors, such as violence by the authorities when covering issues of corruption and terrorism, and a host of other unknown triggers. Sadly, 90 percent of offenders who triggered the deaths of these journalists has not yet been processed or have legal impunity.
