Background 
President of the Republic of Indonesia has committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26% by their own efforts or by 41%, with international support in 2020 in order to mitigate global climate change. 

Purpose and Objectives 
Purpose: 
1.Sebagai means of education, awareness raising, capacity and independence of all components of the importance of planting and maintaining trees. 
2.Mengajak all components for tree planting and maintenance on an ongoing basis to mitigate climate change and forest and land rehabilitation. 


Objectives: 
(1). Adding land cover to prevent the occurrence of floods and landslides, droughts and fires; 
(2). Conservation of biological diversity (bio-diversity); 
(3). Absorption of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere for the anticipated impacts of climate change 
(4). Come participate to the needs of food, energy and water availability to the public welfare. 

Basic Implementation 
1.Keputusan President of Republic of Indonesia Number 24 Year 2008 on Indonesian Tree Planting Day and National Planting Month; 
2.Amanat President at the Memorial Day Tree Planting Indonesia and the National Planting Month (HMPI-BMN) dated 28 November 2010 at Jatiluhur West Java; 
3.Komitmen Indonesia on Climate Change Summit in 2009 in Copenhagen to reduce carbon emissions by 26% - 41% by 2020.

PLANNING 
A. Planting 1 Billion Trees 
Year 2009: One Man One Tree Planting realization reached 251.6 million tree planting exceeds the minimum number of trees that are targeted as much as 231.8 million trees equivalent to the population of Indonesia. 
Year 2010: Planting one billion trees, the realization of planting trees until January 31, 2011 has been implanted more than 1.7 billion (170%) in 33 provinces of the target 1 billion trees by various types of woody plants, oil (except coconut and palmpalm). 


One Tree Planting Movement billion in 2011 is essentially a continuation of the movement of planting one billion trees planted in 2010 with a target of at least one billion trees by the entire population of Indonesia is carried out continuously throughout the year commencing 1 February 2011 and ended up with the January 31, 2012

Achievement measures: 
1. Establishment of the Working Group at the central level by the Ministry of Forestry, Provincial level by the Governor and district / city by Regent / Mayor. 
2. Socialization programs / activities of One Billion Tree Planting Movement at the Central Level, Provincial, Regency / City. 
3. Mobilization of all available resources, namely: 
a.Identifikasi programs / activities Forestry / Plantation and Non Forestry. 
b.Identifikasi potential seed sources from government, private and community. 
c.Identifikasi tree planting locations both within and outside the forest area.

IMPLEMENTATION

E. HMPI and BMN

EVALUATION MONITORING AND REPORTING

B. Reporting
